Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks unite communities behind the American Cancer Society's efforts to save lives from breast cancer. Making Strides of San Diego reflects its own community, here's what you can expect at our event:

Please come to the check-in area to complete a paper registration form. Turn in your completed form along with any donations.
Come together with survivors, caregivers, men and women from all walks of life who are passionate about saving lives from breast cancer. Celebrate your shared efforts. Inspire each other to carry on. And take comfort in the knowledge that because of your dedication, no one walks alone.
Be sure that your team is ready to go at least 15 minutes before your designated start time. The walk is 4 miles.

For Survivors And Caregivers
Survivors, check in when you arrive at the walk. Please fill out a paper registration form or sign up online.
The survivor area is a special area for survivors and the caregivers attending with them. We include both survivors and caregivers to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible. You'll find important information about American Cancer Society programs and services geared specifically for you.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events raise money for an important cause. But that doesn't mean they aren't meant to be fun. So don't miss the entertainment! Join us for the following:

Flavor Co. Cultural Dance Fusion
Get ready for a burst of flavor when you experience an energetic, fun-filled show with the Flavor Co. Cultural Dance Fusion. The Flavor Co. is an inclusive, dedicated group of dancers based in La Mesa, CA. The group performs cultural dances, some familiar and some not, to all type of audience in the San Diego area. Mix one part joy, two parts passion and four parts discipline, and the result is a dynamic show that will be sure to have you wiggling and dancing in your seat.
Geneva Pina, 24 year old singer-songwriter from San Diego. She has opened for artists such as, Meg & Dia (Dia Frampton of The Voice), Alexander Jean (Mark Ballas of dancing with the stars) and many more recognized artists.
Mariachi Del Mar is out of National City. This local group was established in 1994. Alejandro Carrillo is the band leader.
Founded in 2004, San Diego Taiko is a group dedicated to our mission to share our passion for taiko with the San Diego Community through performances and workshops, and to provide an opportunity for local taiko players to hone their abilities. We are based at the World Beat Center in Balboa Park, and hold regular practice sessions and workshops at the center.
After The Walk
We all walk together, but our event is not a race. Stop whenever you want or need to. You absolutely do not need to complete the entire walk if you are unable. Upon finishing the walk, please join us for entertainment and water. The walk concludes when the final walker crosses the finish line.

Welcome to our Team Page. We’ve formed a team because this cause is important to us. We want to help. And walking and raising money in our local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is the best way we can do that. We all have different reasons for participating but we share a determination to help save lives from breast cancer.
There are so many ways that the money our team raises helps. It’s helping fund innovative research. It’s providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It’s providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives. Consider donating to our team and helping advance the cause.
How We Support the American Cancer Society
Of course we walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. And we solicit donations from family, friends, and other supporters. But we also schedule fundraisers in lead-up to the big event. Bake-sales, car washes, and countless other types of events. And we promote those on social media, through Facebook and Twitter, by word of mouth, and through flyers at work and around the neighborhood. The success of fundraising events depends on two things - hard work and getting the word out. And we're out to do both. Keep an eye out for our fundraising events.
