MIAMI WALKS UNITED TO HELP END BREAST CANCER
Over 7,000 walkers Joined American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
MIAMI, FL – October 11, 2014 – More than 7,000 Miami Dade residents rallied together on October 11 at Marlins Park Stadium for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer community walk, raising over to $415,000.
“Saturday’s event was an inspirational example of passion in action,” said Gerry Necuze, Event Chair for the Makings Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Miami. “I’m so proud of how our community responded and how every participant, volunteer and sponsor took positive steps to help finish the fight against breast cancer.”
The 2014 walk was made possible in part by the generous support of MIRA TV as presenting sponsor, Pastuer Medical, HealthSun Health Plans, Wellmax Medical Centers, Marlins Park, Miami-Dade County,UM/ Sylvester, Florida Blue, MCCI for joining us this year.
The fight to end breast cancer starts with a single step. Take that step with us at the American Cancer Society Making Strides of Miami-Dade walk. It will take each and every one of us to rally together and finish the fight against breast cancer. Just a few hours of your time at our non-competitive, 5K (3.1 mile) event will help bring a lifetime of change for people facing breast cancer and their families.
Every Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) event is an incredible and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness about what we can do to reduce our breast cancer risk, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease with breast cancer research, information and services, and access to mammograms for women who need them. Sign up today and let’s finish the fight against breast cancer.
