Please join the American Cancer Society to save lives and create a world with more birthdays.

Join us at the American Cancer Society's Tyler Cattle Barons’ Gala on June 13, 2015 for a great night! Great food, dancing, a spectacular auction, and much more, provide for this premier event to be one of a kind. And as we come together to party for a cause, the American Cancer Society will continue to save lives and create more birthdays by helping people to stay well and get well, find cures, and fight back against a disease that has taken too many lives.

Throughout history, Texans have fought and prevailed in battles against drought, flood and foreign enemies. We are known for never backing down from a fight and one struggle continues…the fight against cancer. Over the past 27 years, the combination of dedicated leaders, volunteers and financial supporters has resulted in contributions of over 10 million dollars to the American Cancer Society in Tyler. As Chairs of the 2015 Tyler Cattle Barons’ Gala it is our privilege to continue this rich Texas tradition of putting up a fight.

Why is it important to raise money for cancer research and support?  Because cancer does not discriminate…it does not know race, sex or income.  Your wife, your husband, your mother, your father, your friend, your neighbor, your co-worker, your employee, your child and even you, could find themselves facing the battle of their lives.  For us, like so many of you, this battle against cancer, this quest to find a cure, is a personal battle.  It is our family to whom we dedicate our participation in this event: it is Patrick Rippy, a childhood cancer survivor; it is Janet Rippy, a breast cancer survivor; it is Dr. Pat Thomas a prostate cancer survivor; it is Elliott Barrett, Hayden Moore, Louise Gaston and Jim Rippy who succumbed to cancer. It’s why for us, it’s not about a party, it’s about a cure. We hope for a day when cancer will be defeated, when the sun will rise on a cancer-free world…then there can truly be a Gala!

The Cattle Barons’ Gala committee requests the support and presence of all Big Hearted Texans as we    bring this celebration of life and hope to town, to the cradle of East Texas agriculture, to Harvey Convention Center on the grounds of the East Texas State Fair.  Saddle up for a memorable evening of fabulous food and legendary entertainment on Saturday, June 13, 2015 as we pay tribute to those who have lost their lives to cancer and salute all of the brave who continue to fight.

Please join us in keeping this event a unique experience and a dedication to a cure by beginning/continuing your generous donation. Your contribution will help the ACS continue its’ mission of helping people stay well through prevention and early detection; helping people get well through hands-on support; by funding cures through ground breaking research; and by fighting back through public policy efforts.
100 years ago, the American Cancer Society started the fight of a lifetime. Annihilating cancer is a battle that cannot be won without a massive army of donors, doctors, researchers and volunteers willing to work and give, and to Remember The Cause.  Together we can finish the fight.
