Honor & Memorial Donations

The goal of the Honor and Memorial committee is to honor, remember and encourage our friends and loved ones who have fought, are still fighting, or have lost their battle against cancer.  In order to do this, you may purchase either a StarBright or StarLight in honor of that special person.  If you so please, an acknowledgement will be sent to the person or person's family as denoted by the donor.

StarBrights 

For a donation of $250, you may purchase a StarBright which is a 1/4 page in the gala program that will be given to each gala patron.  You may create your own ad, or our design team will create something special for you.  Please let us know if you have special text that you would like to use and/or a photo.  Pictures and text must be submitted by April 25, 2009 in order to be included in the program.

StarLights

For just $25, you may purchase a StarLight.  These were designed to brighten the fight against cancer and will be used to decorate the event venue.  Each StarLight purchased will be recognized in the event program and will also be listed on gala signage.

The financial support and volunteer commitment needed to make Starlight Gala a success has helped the American Cancer Society provide cancer research, education, advocacy and service that will benefit the Houston community. To continue our mission of eliminating cancer as a major health problem, the Society needs your help.

The Society is committed to our goal of the eradication of cancer.  As you review the Website, please keep in mind the American Cancer Society’s 2015 goals:

• To prevent cancer deaths by reducing the mortality rate by 50%
• To prevent diagnosis by reducing the incidence rate by 25%
• To measurably improve the quality of life for those with cancer
