Gene Barduson has been a leader in health care informatics for more than three decades. Currently, he is a member of the Scripps Health Board of Trustees. He is also the executive chairman of the board for PerfectServe, a comprehensive and secure health care communications and collaboration platform. The longtime executive is also founder and CEO of La Jolla Wellness Studio, which uses advanced technology machines for workouts.
The advent of the computer revolution over the past 50 years spurred tremendous change in society. Beginning with IBM in 1966, Gene has been part of this transformation. During his tenure in senior leadership roles, Gene has led companies in the building of solutions for health systems, hospitals, physicians and payors. This includes being the CEO of four healthcare companies and serving on 7 different Board of Directors: serving on two as Chair of the Board.
Gene is also a member of the board of trustees at Western University of Health Sciences, which has campuses in Pomona, Calif., and Lebanon, Ore. He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, and his master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Northern Iowa. Gene lives with his wife, Mary, in La Jolla, and enjoys spending time with his six grandchildren and playing golf.
