I’m an American Cancer Society Charity Runner athlete!

As most of you may know, I lost my mother to breast cancer almost fourteen years ago.  She was an amazing mother and a very active member of our community.  I am taking this half marathon as my first chance to follow in her philanthropic footsteps.  This is my first time training for an event like this and I know it will be a very big challenge for me.  However, my personal challenge to run 13.1 miles will not even compare to the challenges my mother faced and the challenges that thousands of people face that are diagnosed with cancer every single day. 

Together, we are making a difference.

Like endurance race aspirations, the American Cancer Society is also attacking difficult goals, including preventing cancer and diminishing suffering from the disease.Like me, the Society is putting in a great deal of effort to make these difficult goals possible and to save more lives. I am going to meet my goal of finishing this race to help them meet their goal to end cancer.

I am running this race in memory of Diane Breeden-Lee and in hope of a better future for those diagnosed with Cancer.  If you have not been personally affected by this disease, you know someone who has.  By donating money to help me reach my goal, we are helping someone's mother, father, sister or brother by giving them a chance to have a future.  No donation is too small, and any amount is a big step toward my $1,000 goal.
