I’m an American Cancer Society Charity Runner athlete!
Friends and family:
I have entered the 2010 Phoneix Marathon, which will take place in January as an American Cancer Society Charity Runner. I am running this race as a supporter of the Cancer Society in efforts to raise money to find answers and cures, but more so in memory of my wife and best friend Liz.
We spent many weekends through the years running in local events as well as both half and full Chicago Marathons. It was an outlet for us and a chance to spend quality time with each other, push each other, and celebrate the small victories we had achieved in meeting our personal goals. Liz was an amazing cheerleader for me and always pushed me to be at my best during these events. Once again, she will be my motivation, my drive to finish, and another attempt to finish under the four hour mark. I could not think a better way to remember Liz than to run this event which will fall on her birthday ~ January 17th. She will be on my mind ever mile of the race,
After a year of battling this deadly disease, endless treatments, continuous pain, and emotional turmoil, Liz lost her fight to cancer this last July. Iam determined to help even if one person with cancer in any way that I can knowing first hand what they are going through, Looking back on Liz's last year, I dont want anyone to have to endure the pain that she went through and am looking for your help in helping to find answers and new treatments in curing cancer once and for all. I have taken a more active role as being an active supporter of the cancer society as well as volunteering my time in the community to help individuals and cancer center facilities.
Please Support me. Together, we are making a difference.
In addition to the finishing the race, I am striving to raise money in support of the American Cancer Society. I know that many of you already give to several organizations, maybe even the fight against cancer, so please know that any contribution would be greatly appreciated. Every dollar truly makes a difference. Donating online is easy, and you can donate now. Please help me honor the people who have been touched by cancer, and to bring hope to those currently facing the disease.
Thank you all for your support and help. Come race day, I know my angel will be with me every step of the way. Together we will finish Phoenix together ~ once again.
