What is Hope on the Slopes? Hope on the Slopes is a 24-hour ski and snowboard event that raises money to support the mission of the American Cancer Society. You can participate as a team or individual. Event participants can choose to engage in competition with other participants in two categories: Fundraising Challenge and Vertical Feet Challenge.
With the American Cancer Society Hope on the Slopes, there are several ways you can join the fight against cancer this winter...
-
Participate on a Team
-
Form or join a team of up to 15 members
-
Registration is $150/team, and can be waived by event sponsorship
-
NEW THIS YEAR: Fundraising minimum for inclusion in vertical feet team competition prizes is $200 per member total. For example, a team of 8 would need to raise at least $1600 to compete for vertical feet prizes.
-
Participate as an Individual
-
Become an event sponsor or donor
-
Volunteer to be on the planning committee or help on the day of the event
-
Make a donation to an event participant
What are the Fundraising and Vertical Feet Challenges?
Fundraising Challenge: Competition to see which team/individual can raise the most amount of money through the end of the event. Top 3 teams and top 3 individuals will win medals and prizes. Top College Student will win a 2011 seasons pass from Stevens Pass.
Vertical Feet Challenge: Each participant's lift ticket/season's pass will be swiped before the event starts and will automatically track the amount of vertical feet they have skied/ridden. The challenge is to see who can ski/ride the most amount of vertical feet in a 24-hour period. Top 3 teams and individuals will recieve medals and prizes. To be considered, each individual has to raise a mimimum of $200. Top College Student will win a 2011 seasons pass from Stevens Pass.
Imagine ... A world without cancer.
Set your sights high and make every run count this season. This winter, the American Cancer Society challenges you to extend beyond your vertical limits to fund the fight against cancer. Every time you hit the slopes with Hope on the Slopes, you will raise valuable funds to support American Cancer Society-funded research, education, advocacy, and patient service programs.
With your help, we will continue to get closer to a cure.
