Besides volunteering for the 5K for Life as both the Registration Chair and the Online Volunteer, Jo has also donated time at the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Joe is a five-year breast cancer survivor, and is very active in participating and volunteering in breast cancer activities. She recently traveled to Philadelphia to participate in a breast cancer walk.

Jo is a 4-H Superintendent at the Iowa State Fair in the exhibits building, and for the past 10 years has been part of the data entry staff for the 4-H livestock department at the Iowa State Fair. She also serves as Sheep Superintendent for the Story County 4-H sheep department.

Jo lives in Story City, Iowa with her husband Bruce. They have three grown children: Amy, Terri, and Ryan. She also enjoys camping, spending time with the grandchildren, working on stain glass projects and sewing.
