Participant Testimonials
This amazing event is an inspiration to all of us survivors who join with others to fight cancer. Before my own diagnosis in 2005, I had no idea how huge this cause would become in my life. Then, 2 years later, when my brother was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, my efforts intensified. He was an incredible force of nature and successful, determined triathlete. I watched cancer reduce his body to a shell of the man he was, yet his spirit never wavered. He died just days before the first Climb to Conquer Cancer in 2008, but he knew I had dedicated the Ridge Race to him. Every time I hike The Ridge, his spirit goes with me as I remember him saying, "Never give up!" ~ mary johnson, co-chair and cancer survivor
