March 4th, 2009  Wednesday:  Extended On-Line Registration

 The event is only days away, we have an early morning schedule start time and hundreds of people to load into the RFID vertical tracking system.  Help make the system run smoothly by registering now.

1:00pm  Captains meeting at Event Headquarters 

1:30pm  First Vertical Challenge Update from winners podium, spot prizes

January 21st, 2009  HOTS Kick-offs held at REI
    Team registrations begin, fundraising begins simultaneously

March 1st, 2009:  Participant online entry deadline...get registered early, don't waste time.

March 7th, 2009  HOPE ON THE SLOPES EVENT DAY

    6:00am  Participant check-in starts at the Pacific Crest Lodge (also serving as Event Headquarters)

    8:30am  Check-in postponed

    8:45am  Opening Ceremonies in from of Pacific Crest Lodge
                    Hosted by Boston John Gadbois

    9:00am  The Ski & Board Marathon Begins!!!  The vertical challenge starts keeping footage.
                 Check-in resumes

    11:30am  Games and activities available at Event Headquarters throughout the day

    10:00pm  Stevens Pass closes to the public...HOTS participants continue riding on Hogsback chairlift

    11:00pm  "Midnight BBQ" for all participants, fundraisers, staff and volunteers
                   Hogsback Chair closes for grooming

March 8th, 2009 

    12:00am Torch Light Parade down Blue Trail on Hogsback for Luminaria
                  Hogsback re-opens to all HOTS participants throughout the night

    8:50am   Last runs tracked for vertical foot challenge

    9:00am  Hope on the Slopes Skiing and Snowboarding Ends
                Vertical elevation calculated
                Stevens Pass opens to general public, HOTS participant's Saturday lift tickets still valid on Sunday

    10:00am  Closing and Awards Ceremony in front of Pacific Crest Lodge
                    Presentation of Awards in following categories
                        Top Teams who raise the most money for the American Cancer Society
                        Top Teams who accumulate the most combined vertical footage
                        Top Individual fundraiser
                        Top Individual who rides most vertical footage
