A few years back, the Brooklyn Cyclones began an effort called Take Your Base to help raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society. The event began as a 5k walk along the famed Coney Island boardwalk and has since become a run/walk, opening itself up to a whole new group of athletes. Take Your base (TYB) has grown each year, and has -- in its brief four year history -- raised over $70,000 for the American Cancer Society. Whether you walk (or run) for yourself, to remember someone you've lost, to support someone who's struggling, or just to bond with others fighting for a common goal, TYB is a fun event for a worthy cause, and a great way to kick off the summer.

This year National Grid has taken a stand to support the cause and the community by forming its own team. Join fellow National Grid employees on June 21st for the fifth annual edition of Take Your Base, and take your place in the fight against cancer!
