The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Program provides a home away from home for those traveling to recieve cancer treatment. Since 2000 the Joe Lee Griffin Hope Lodge, in Birmingham, has provided housing free of charge on a first-come, first served basis to cancer patients and their families during their course of treatment. The Hope Lodge not only reduces the financial burden, but also provides a much-needed supportive environment.
