Event Information
The American Cancer Society's Pedal to End Cancer is an indoor cycling fundraising event to benefit the Society’s programs of cancer research, education, advocacy, and services.

About one-third of the cancer deaths that occur in the U.S. each year are due to nutrition and physical activity factors. By quitting  or avoiding smoking, maintaining a healthy weight through proper diet and regular physical activity and getting the appropriate prevent care, Americans can significantly reduce their risk of cancer.

Event History
Since Pedal to End Cancer, formerly known as Spin for Hope, started in New England in 2005, more than $3.2 million has been raised for the fight against cancer. What started with 6 clubs raising $100,000 has grown to over 100 clubs having participated.

2018 will be our 5th year under the event name Pedal to End Cancer and the 14th year using our pedals to fight cancer!

Other than the name of the event, nothing has changed. Pedal to End Cancer continues to be the fun, exciting event you remember. And, most importantly, the funds raised will continue to support the life-saving mission of the American Cancer Society.

Registration and Event Information

Participants register online and pay the $25 non-refundable registration fee (As in 2017, the registration fee IS included in the recommended fundraising minimum) to participate.

Participants may also choose to share a bike with up to 2 other riders and split up the three hours.  Those registering to share a bike should aim to raise $100 each. A non-refundable $25 registration fee applies per participant.

Host Clubs
Clubs that host Pedal to End Cancer will be listed on this Web site and local/regional publicity/media releases. Each club will also be given an event banner as well as a supply of posters and brochures to help spread the word on their participation.

Survivors are honored guests at all American Cancer Society events.

Volunteers need to be recruited by each club to plan the event, help recruit instructors, participants and survivors, solicit local businesses for sponsorships (both financial and raffle/giveaway items, food, etc.), manage the logistics on the day of the event, and other entertainment/activities that the club may want to offer. Volunteers are responsible for making sure people are having fun!

Pedal to End Cancer Spotlight

The Pedal to End Cancer spotlight will shine on one coordinator or rider. Each of them will answer the same eleven questions, which will then be shared on Facebook and in emails.
