Cancer affects millions of people across the globe and many people right here in our hometown. By joining our team or making a donation, you will be a part of Relay For LifeŽ to celebrate survivors, remember the people we've lost to cancer, and fight back against this disease.
Thank you to all Willoway employees and friends who have signed up to participate on the Willoway Relay Team! We have over 30 members on the team so far and have raised over $4000.00! Keep up the great work.
Remember to keep your calendars open for June 7 & 8.... it will be here before we know it and I know we are all going to be busy with Spring knocking at the door! Start thinking about the day/time you would like to sign up to walk... each team member should try to give one hour of their time to walk on either Saturday or Sunday. I have a sign up sheet started and we will finalize times in late May. If you know what time you are available, let me know ASAP so we can try to make the schedule work for everyone! Thank you.

Here are a few key topics we discussed at the meeting on May 30:
1. T-shirts--- I will pick up the Relay for Life t-shirts on Monday June 2, 2008. I will distribute shirts to willoway employees/family members as best I can. You can pick up your shirt in my office Tuesday-Friday 7am-5pm. If you cannot pick up your shirt before Saturday, I will have it at the event for you. Please remember to wear your shirt to the event!!!

2. Banner--- I showed the team banner to the members present. Thank you so much to Deb Hinman for making the banner- it looks great! The team will walk with our banner at 1:30pm on Saturday for the "team introduction lap."

3. Schedule of Events--- see below for a tentative schedule of events that will be going on during relay. Tent site location--- near Cafe of Hope. I will get the exact location 6/2, but you should be able to find us... we will have 2 white tents near the Cafe of Hope. Call me if you cannot find us! 4402251577

4. What will we be doing all day/night???---- selling popcorn, home-made cookies, pop, water, and promoting our raffle items for fundraisers for Team Willoway. We are all set to pick up the popcorn machine, Deb has made cookies, and each team member should know if they are responsible for bringing a case of pop, water, or a bag of ice to contribute to our fundraiser. Everything will be for sale for $1.00 donation to ACS. The proceeds from these items also count toward our Team Goal!!! Tickets for the raffle will be 1/$1.00 or 6/$5.00. We have a lot of nice items ready for the raffle... if you want to donate anything else to the raffle, please bring the item on Saturday or drop it off to me anytime this week. We will also be walking the track during the event--- remember we are supposed to have someone from Team WIlloway on the track at all times! I am going to come up with a schedule of walk times for the late night hours (12midnight-6am) so we are sure we will have enough help for walking during that time. For all the other times, I feel that there will be plenty of team members around to walk.

5. Donations--- turn in any donations you may have by Monday June 2 5:30pm to me so I can turn them in at my final meeting that night. We can still collect donations after this time, but the relay coordinators would like me to turn in anything I have so far so they can get a start on totaling everything up.

2pm-6pm- American Red Cross Blood Mobile available to donate blood
3:00pm- Corn hole tournament begins ($10.00 donation to enter)
Bingo in Survivor Tent
4:00pm- Water balloon toss
4:15pm- Talent show tryouts begin (Relay Idol)
6:00pm- Ms. Relay (Male team member dresses like a female and collects donations from the crowd!)
6:30pm- Talent Show Finals (Relay Idol)
9:00pm- Luminary Ceremony
