My Reason to Relay
It's amazing to think that millions of people will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Few of us can say that cancer has not touched our lives in some way. Unfortunately, so many of us know someone, a colleague, friend or relative whose family has been stricken by this terrible disease.
I have gladly been a part of The American Cancer Society Relay For Life since 1994. The Relay is more than just an event to me. It is my opportunity to honor those who are fighting to survive. It is also my personal opportunity to help save lives from cancer by raising money that goes to research and support.
This year, I will again be walking in honor of my sister, Debra, who is now cancer free. Debra is a wife, mother of 5 and foster mother of 3. She is truly a hero and I often say, "I don't know how she does it."

- Fighting back by working with lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and rally communities worldwide to join the fight
