Cancer affects millions of people across the globe and many people right here in our hometown. By making a donation, you will be a part of Shave to Save to celebrate survivors, remember the people we've lost to cancer, and fight back against the disease.

What is Shave to Save?

Shave to Save is one of the American Cancer Society’s most exciting and unique fundraising events and the only special event that directly benefits the Hope Lodge which provides free, temporary housing to cancer patients and their caregivers during the duration of their treatment. To date the Hope Lodge has served over 4,000 individuals and their caregivers since its doors opened in 2000. It is an amazing facility and has assisted countless families during a very trying time.

This is the 7h year of both the Lodge and the Shave to Save event. To date, this event has contributed nearly $600,000 to the operating budget of the Hope Lodge.

For my part, I will help raise money with 14 other Shavees in the Kansas City area, and on May 8th will get my head shaved as part of this fundraising event.

Why Am I Getting My Head Shaved?

I’m doing for my childhood friend Brian, doing this for an old colleague Jane. I’m doing this to remember those friends lost in my professional family. I’m doing this for the people in my life, wherever I’ve met them, who’ve lost someone to this disease or has someone close fighting this disease. I do it because I think the Hope Lodge is an incredible thing, and should be supported.
